SEMPRE E OVUNQUE OLTRE IL SOGNO

Ams/BTF 2011
  8 tracks, 61,55 minutes

Four stunning instrumentals, a long and adventurous suite, a touching tribute to their beloved Genesis, the Chad-Bat saga and a proud statement of belonging in the progressive rock environment: the 2011 of Italian prog opens with the eagerly awaited return of Pandora withSempre e ovunque oltre il sogno. Once again publishing with BTF, the Piedmont band once more hits the target: their second album is aprogressive and symphonic rock opera with lyrics in Italian, paying tribute to the best 1970s music but also ready to compete with the most innovative contemporary art-rock.

Back in the trio line-up they started their career with and after their debut album Dramma di un poeta ubriaco (BTF 2008) was successful both amongst the critics and with the audiences, Pandora tackle their second work with a reinvigorated attitude. Sempre e comunque oltre il sognoconfirms the style employed in the band’s previous record maintaining the main characteristics of the band, whose prog rock is melodic but solid, refined but also aggressive, alternating softly drawn undertones and great energy. Claudio Colombo, Beppe Colombo and Corrado Grappeggia are the protagonists of this album focused on dreams, on the flights of fantasy, on a project of evocative, timeless music. Faithful to their objective of reaching a “musical expressionism” able to include various styles, the trio joined several souls: a fantasy and mythologicalone with Ade, sensazione di paura, Discesa attraverso lo Stige and the Chad-Bat saga in L’altare del sacrificio, L’incantesimo del druidoand La formula finale di Chad-Bat; the magniloquent and multi-faceted one of the suite in eight movements Sempre e comunque and a romantic side with 03.02.1974. The latter is a tribute to Genesis, and in particular to a never-forgotten live concert in Turin during the Selling England by the Pound tour, here recalled with originality and longing.

The band enjoyed the cooperation of the painter Emoni Viruet, author of a cover that well introduces to the fairy-tale world in this record and ofpaintings inspired to the songs in it. After the departure of guitarist Christian Dimasi, Pandora returned to their initial trio line-up and will be joined by new musicians on their live dates. It will be on the stage of Fabrik Faster Rock in Moncalieri (Turin) that this new CD will be officially launched: an unmissable evening dedicated to Italian progressive rock on the 19th of February. In the meantime, the trio are working on further news: two international tributes, one to Flower Kings and the other to Pink Floyd, that will soon be published and will certainly fascinate the prog fans worldwide. ndo.
